Our classes span a variety of levels and topics. Class is casual, coverage of material is thorough, and our teachers are top-tier industry professionals. Cost is between $20-$40 per class and each student who signs up will receive a a discount on the tasting wines that night.

Italian Night With James

Tuesday, April 16| 7:00 pm-8:00 pm

This class takes us beyond a cursory look at Italian wines. James Mucci, owner of one of our favorite Italian import companies, explains the different styles of wine and how something as simple as extended contact with grape skins can make a wine dramatically different — and more importanly, why we should care about this.

Restaurants have been slowly using skin contact as a descriptor on wine menus, so now is a good time to become educated on what it all means.

And of course, we will sample some fantastic Italian wines which will highlight the differences. Expect to sample at least 5 wines, enjoy some small bites provided by the Cheese Bin, and enjoy the evening. As an added bonus, all wines sampled — and all wines in the store this evening will be available to you for 20% off discount when you purchase any three regular priced wines.

Traveling to the Loire Valley

Travelers to the Loire Valley in France will remember the gentle rolling hills, abundant vineyards, orchards, the sweeping Loire River – and of course the Chateaux – more than 300 of the iconic castles of France which epitomizes French architecture.

With that in mind, we host our next Vin Bin Academy featuring the wines of Loire Valley. Known for crisp, clean, citrusy styles, the wines of the Loire have spawned entire cultures of wine drinkers. And who could resist a breezy summer night sipping Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Muscadet – which when paired with shellfish, might be the earth’s most perfect food match.

And who could forget the cheese! Loire Valley cheeses are world renown – the tart and delicate chevre spread on a crispy baguette along side a Sancerre is simple and brilliant.

The Garden of France, as it is known, produces aromatic reds, sparkling whites and mesmerizing rose as well. And you will sample all of this – with a bit of chevre – for your next academy class.

Please join us and our galivanting friend Rich Ricci this evening for a tour of the Loire Valley, complete with at least 5 wines sampled and small bites from the Cheese Bin.

A Visit to Southern France

Tuesday, June 11| 7:00 pm-8:00 pm

Please join us for this journey through the South of France with Alexander Gray. Alex will be freshly back from a visit to the Rhone Valley where he will have spent time at the vineyards of Chapoutier, Ferraton, Chateau de Ferrages, and other stellar Rhone producers. Alex will give us report on vintage expectations, a wide range of samples, reds, whites and roses, and relate stories to us about his trip. Class will sample at least 6 wines from the Rhone Valley and surrounding appellations. We anticipate that Alex will provide for us a rare bottling from Chapoutier generally unavailable in Massachusetts.
