Aykanian Named GM of The Vin Bin

Aaron S. Aykanian was named General Manager of The Vin Bin today, becoming the first occupant of that position since the company opened its doors in 2004.
As GM, Aaron will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the three-store, family run business.
He was serving as both manager of the Hopkinton location and Beverage Director for the all stores prior to this announcement.
“Aaron understands what it takes to make the Vin Bin a special place for our customers – and he knows what it takes to keep us successful, current and vital to the fabric of each town we are in,” said Rick Lombardi, Vin Bin owner.
Among his duties, Aaron will lead the 40 member staff in continued improvements to in-store experience for all customers, keeping a constant eye out for new, emerging and thoughtful products in beverages, cheese and gourmet foods, and aiding ownership in future expansion plans.

He will work closely with Executive Chef Mike Lombardi on the Vin Bin Café and future café projects.
Aaron started at the Vin Bin in 2005, working in the cheese and beer departments. He quickly accelerated his role to include wine and gourmet foods. He has earned a certificate in wine appreciation from WSET seminar at Boston University. He is recognized by his peers as having a discriminating palate for craft beer and an abundance of knowledge on local cheeses, having traveled extensively throughout New England to breweries and farms.

The Vin Bin and Vin Bin Café were founded in 2004 by the Lombardi family in downtown Marlboro. In 2011, the Vin Bin moved to the former Central Fire Station on Main Street in Marlboro, opening a café in 2013. The next year, the Vin Bin opened a new location at 22 South Street in Hopkinton, and two years later bought the former Panzano Market in Southborough’s White’s Corner Crossing, converting that Italian market into a gourmet wine, cheese, spirits and craft beer store along with an award winning café.
